Urine Samples

 

We are reviewing how urine samples are managed in our practice. This is due to national guidance from NICE and our Royal College of General Practitioners. We as a practice are trying to reduce the burden of antibiotic resistance. As of the 1st of August we will no longer accept samples in reception for dipping of urine, for suspected urinary infection.

 

If you are concerned you have a urine infection you will need an appointment with a clinician. If you require any further information please ask for a telephone consultation with either Nurse Angie or Nurse Kate.

Accountable named GP for all patients

The practice is required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP. Individual patients will be informed of their named accountable GP at the first appropriate interaction with the practice. This information is also printed on prescriptions. If you are unsure who your accountable GP is then please ask a member of staff at your next appointment.

CHAPERONES - Ask reception if you would like one.

Ii is the policy of the practice to provide patients with a chaperone during certain examinations and procedures. 

If you would like a chaperone to be present during your consultation, please speak to reception or the clinician and a Chaperone will be made available to you if possible. if a Chaperone cannot be offered at that time then the option of re-booking will be given.
